PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE The City of Covington hereby gives notice that a public meeting will be held to discuss a wastewater system improvement project proposed to be funded by Georgia's Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) on May 26, 2026 at 2:00 pm at City Hall located at 2194 Emory Street NW, Covington, GA 30014. The proposed project includes modifications and improvements to the City's existing Water Reclamation Facility including, upgrades to the existing primary and secondary treatment, new effluent pump station, tertiary treatment and all necessary process, site and piping improvements. The preliminary estimate of the project cost is approximately $50,000,000. The purposes of the public meeting are to: 1. Inform the public of the need for improvements to the City's wastewater system. 2. Comply with Section 391-3-6-.02 of Georgia's Water Quality Control Rules. 3. Encourage public involvement in the development of a plan to improve the wastewater system. During the meeting the City will provide information to the public and receive questions and comments about the proposed project. Project alternatives are described and evaluated in the Environmental Review and Planning Document for the project. This document is available for public inspection through the date of the public meeting at City Hall located at 2194 Emory Street NW, Covington, GA 30014 during normal business hours. Your participation is encouraged and considered essential to the selection and development of the final plan to be adopted prior to its approval by the State of Georgia, Department of Natural Resources.
