CITY OF COVINGTON NOTICE of PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that a 1st public hearing will be held by the Mayor and Council of the City of Covington, Georgia, at 6:30 p.m. on February 2, 2026, and a 2nd public hearing will be held by the Mayor and Council of the City of Covington, Georgia, at 6:30 p.m. on February 16, 2026 at 2116 Stallings Street, Covington, Georgia. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the passage of an ordinance amendment entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COVINGTON, GEORGIA, TO AMEND THE COVINGTON MUNICIPAL CODE, ENACTED AND ADOPTED ON THE 16TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 2001, AS AMENDED BY PREVIOUS AMENDMENTS, TO ALTER CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF TITLE 15 OF THE SAID CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE PURPOSE OF AMENDING CHAPTER 15.52 (DEVELOPMENT IMPACT FEES) TO ADD A PARKS AND RECREATION COMPONENT AND ESTABLISH A NEW FEE SCHEDULE; TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for public inspection and is posted on the bulletin board at City Hall, 2194 Emory Street, Covington, Georgia.
