ORDER OF THE NEWTON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS AND REGISTRATION WHEREAS, O.C.G.A. SS 21-2-265(e) The superintendent may establish the polling place for a precinct outside the boundaries of the precinct if there is no suitable facility within the precinct which could be used as a polling place and if, by so doing, such polling place would better serve the needs of the voters WHEREAS, O.C.G.A. SS 21-2-265 provides that the Newton County Board of Elections and Registration is responsible for the selection and fixing of a polling place within each precinct and may change the polling place within any precinct; and WHEREAS, in accordance with O.C.G.A. SS 21-2-265, notice of the proposed polling place changes for the Buck Creek, precincts were advertised in The Covington News, the legal organ of Newton County, on weekend edition on January 23, 2026 and January 30, 2026. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED by the Newton County Board of Elections and Registration that the precinct and polling places be advertised for change as follows: 1. The location of the Buck Creek precinct polling place is hereby changed from Mt. Zion Baptist Church 7037 GA 212 Covington, Ga 30016 to Abiding Grace Lutheran Church 5500 Hwy 212 Covington, Ga 30016 and SO ORDERED this 12th day of January, 2026.
